The audience was convinced that Omar Gaizko's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gaspar Rufo was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. Jose Quinton's late challenge caught a Espinillo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jose Quinton helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Juventud de Ausonia's Jose Quinton got a free kick in the 13th minute. 22 minutes into the match, Espinillo's Gaudencio Ticho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gaspar Rufo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Juventud de Ausonia booed when Espinillo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ceferino Francho didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Juventud de Ausonia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gaspar Rufo should have stopped the shot.
