An unexpectedly hard shot by Teofilo Feo in the 44th minute of play forced Don Lilo F.C.'s goalkeeper Gaudencio Artizar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Epifanio Tajo to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Arturo Nastasio made a precise shot to the right of Gaudencio Artizar. Don Lilo F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Las Mandarinas FC's zone, Epifanio Tajo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adrian Lico came out of the goal and Epifanio Tajo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 94th minute, Federico Fonso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 96th minute, Celedonio Francho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Don Lilo F.C.'s players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
