Cirilo Calixto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Gavino Herrera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Salto FC's Eugenio Feliz got a free kick in the 20th minute. Wilfredo Laurin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anibal Costante in the 24th minute of the match. Cirilo Calixtos short, quick shot in the 28thth minute got Gavino Herrera to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Arturo Abarca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cirilo Calixto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Gavino Herrera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Anibal Costante to make the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cirilo Calixto in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gavino Herrera saved El Social from getting behind. Wilfredo Laurin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anibal Costante, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gavino Herrera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cirilo Calixto, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. 95 minutes into the game, Guaberto Buinton was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. El Social's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Salto FC the free kick. A collision led to El Social getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Guaberto Buinton hit a great ball. When Salto FC's Cirilo Calixto in the 96th minute got a chance for a shot 96th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye El Social's goalie prevented a goal. The Salto FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching El Social's performance. The match ended with a win for El Social.
