Spectators: 7035 (Terracing: 5325, Seating: 1668, VIP seats: 42) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Rene Nevada took the kick off in the first half of the match. After a rather tough play, Velez Sarsfield's Alberto Sergi got a free kick in the 2nd minute. The audience was convinced that Isidoro Txatxu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Anselmo Herrera was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. In the 4th match minute, Velez Sarsfield was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Conrado Ekaitz to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rene Nevada in the 7th minute of play forced Velez Sarsfield's goalkeeper Anselmo Herrera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Velez Sarsfield booed when Cadillal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Danilo Bazkoare didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cosme Veremundo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aristides Amaya having to interfere. The supporters of Cadillal booed when Velez Sarsfield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Conrado Ekaitz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 16th minute of the match Jeremias Luar shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Anselmo Herrera showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Niceto Oliviero took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Anselmo Herrera. Anselmo Herrera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Anselmo Herrera came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by Cadillal's Rene Nevada. But to his dismay, Rene Nevada quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Aristides Amaya took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cosme Veremundo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36th minute, Jose Ramone hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Isidoro Txatxu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anselmo Herrera having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Conrado Ekaitz during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Conrado Ekaitz hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. When Rene Nevada came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Cadillal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rene Nevada couldn't finish the play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cosme Veremundo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Velez Sarsfield's Conrado Ekaitz got his second yellow card of the match in the 52nd minute. The referee ordered Conrado Ekaitz off the ground. The supporters of Cadillal booed when Velez Sarsfield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Conrado Ekaitz didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Niceto Oliviero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Velez Sarsfield getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Lucio Mattin hit a great ball. Isidoro Txatxu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Isidoro Txatxu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Anselmo Herrera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rene Nevada might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Anselmo Herrera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rene Nevada ran back to his position shaking his head. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jairo Franco in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aristides Amaya saved Cadillal from getting behind. Anselmo Herrera made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Julian Santo sent off a good shot on target. If Isidoro Txatxu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 80th minute, Cadillal's Rene Nevada dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. Cadillal's Isidoro Txatxu got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rene Nevada sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 89 played minutes Rene Nevada rounded Velez Sarsfield's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-4.
