Oscar Mendez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Iker Francis's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. After 14 played minutes LupinFC got a freekick which was hit by Israel Frasquito. After 21 played minutes Virginia FC got a freekick which was hit by Iker Francis. After a rather tough play, LupinFC's Israel Frasquito got a free kick in the 31st minute. Mariano Haitz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mariano Haitz was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 37th minute. LupinFC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Celso Breogan's late challenge caught a LupinFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Celso Breogan helped the player get up and apologised. Celso Breogan kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Amancio Elixio acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 47th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Elias Godoy. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Iker Francis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Fernando Fernado fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Virginia FC's protests and gave Fernando Fernado a yellow card for diving instead. The audience was convinced that Higinio Etor's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Amancio Elixio was relentless in the 68th minute of the game.
