Ischilín's Reynaldo Senon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Ischilín from getting a goal against them. After 56 played minutes, Merlo's Hugo Rafe shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Reynaldo Senon came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Merlo reached it. When Carmelo Geleberto came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Merlo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carmelo Geleberto couldn't finish the play. Merlo's Augusto Bazil played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustavo Pierres in the 64th minute of play. Modesto Leheren in the 67thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Augusto Bazil, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Jaime Berart's late challenge caught a Ischilín's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jaime Berart helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Merlo getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Jaime Berart hit a great ball. When Froilan Isadore came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Merlo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Froilan Isadore couldn't finish the play. Arturo Quin charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Arturo Quin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Ischilín getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Arturo Quin hit a great ball. Flavio Caetano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reynaldo Senon having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carmelo Geleberto in the 87th minute of play forced Ischilín's goalkeeper Reynaldo Senon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carmelo Geleberto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reynaldo Senon having to interfere. In the 97th minute of the match, Modesto Leheren got a very nice opportunity to score, but Augusto Bazil was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Merlo fans cheered their team off the field, for while Ischilín had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
