Luisito Diagur might have been able to make a better finish in the 3rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dalmacio Maule. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luisito Diagur ran back to his position shaking his head. Claudio Eneas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Igor Umbruso, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. 6 minutes into the match, Igor Umbruso had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Claudio Eneas. Colón FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Igor Umbruso was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 10th minute Igor Umbruso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudio Eneas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Colón FC's Adan Ostots got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adan Ostots in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dalmacio Maule prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dalmacio Maule showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luisito Diagur in the 26th minute of the match. Luisito Diagur could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Dalmacio Maule made a huge save. After 31 minutes, Gaston Dominix made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Colón FC's Claudio Eneas tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 34th match minute, Providencia AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bartolo Paz to maneuver through the defense. Adan Ostots's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dalmacio Maule read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. When Hector Froila fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Providencia AFC's protests and gave Hector Froila a yellow card for diving instead. Hector Froila hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. After 40 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Providencia AFC! In the 42nd minute there was a penalty for Colón FC. Albano Quin stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Dalmacio Maule. 1-2. 47 minutes into the match, Colón FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gaston Dominix came free, but Claudio Eneas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half Providencia AFC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gaston Dominix made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Colón FC's zone, Igor Umbruso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Claudio Eneas came out of the goal and Igor Umbruso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Claudio Eneas didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 56th minute, which inside left pole to 1-3. 63 minutes into the match, Colón FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gaston Dominix came free, but Claudio Eneas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Igor Umbruso scored 1-4 in the 66th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Claudio Eneas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, Colón FC's Claudio Eneas got control of the ball when Igor Umbruso tried to sneak it across the goal line. Igor Umbruso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudio Eneas having to interfere. Igor Umbruso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Claudio Eneas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Gaston Dominix had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Luisito Diagur managed to get in a good position for a shot. Colón FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Luisito Diagur was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dalmacio Maule breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Providencia AFC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
