Trigales's Carlos Lucila proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Trigales from getting a goal against them. Carlos Lucila made a fantastic save in the 48th minute, when Cosme Osorio sent off a good shot on target. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The supporters of Palermo AFC booed when Trigales was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Arlo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Humberto Rius, 55 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. In the 71st minute, one of Trigales:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Trigales. The referee gave Palermo AFC a penalty, 72 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Humberto Rius, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Trigales's Carlos Lucila. 1-1. In the 84th minute Amado Sendoa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Lucila saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Amado Sendoa might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carlos Lucila. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Amado Sendoa ran back to his position shaking his head. Tomas Oroitz hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Martin Berart got free with Epifanio Lluc in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Trigales's Carolo Quintyn got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Palermo AFC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
