The coaching staff of Quilinquil protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Placido Ugutz had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 4 minutes into the game, one of Quilinquil:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Gogo Mancio shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Mateo Ladio kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Erubiel Jerico recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Erubiel Jerico came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Euzkadi F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erubiel Jerico couldn't finish the play. Erubiel Jerico fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romeo Merexildo having to interfere. In the 19th match minute, Quilinquil was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mateo Ladio to maneuver through the defense. Romeo Merexildo was a little too slow when Erubiel Jerico got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 21st minute. The score was now 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Eduardo Oinatz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Quilinquil's supporters rose to their feet, but Eduardo Oinatz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tomas Bembe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 26th match minute, Euzkadi F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudio Mikelar to maneuver through the defense. Justo Nardo took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Romeo Merexildo. Romeo Merexildo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Erubiel Jerico sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eduardo Oinatz was the one to do the kick off. If Camilo Urtsua had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 67th minute Erubiel Jerico shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romeo Merexildo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erubiel Jerico in the 68th minute of play forced Quilinquil's goalkeeper Romeo Merexildo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Quilinquil's Domingo Bras got a free kick in the 71st minute. Camilo Urtsua received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Romeo Merexildo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 76 minutes into the match, Quilinquil's goal looked a bit too open when Erubiel Jerico came free, but Romeo Merexildo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
