Candido Feo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teo Goiz, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. 7 minutes into the match, Venancio Martino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gaspar Obeko. Norumbega's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Venancio Martino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Norumbega's Gaspar Obeko proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Norumbega from getting a goal against them. 13 minutes into the match, Club Deportivo Moreno's goal looked a bit too open when Rodrigo Nataniel came free, but Candido Feo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Teo Goiz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Candido Feo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Candido Feo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodrigo Nataniel in the 25th minute of play. The supporters of Norumbega booed when Club Deportivo Moreno was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Candido Musko didn't get a good kick on the ball. Venancio Martinos short, quick shot in the 29thth minute got Gaspar Obeko to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 31st minute Honorato Urtsua shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gaspar Obeko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Club Deportivo Moreno's Ivan Berasko suffered a concussion in the 45th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Dario Pagomari's late challenge caught a Club Deportivo Moreno's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dario Pagomari helped the player get up and apologised. Club Deportivo Moreno's Guaberto Azibar was substituted for Ivan Berasko. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Gaspar Obeko took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Venancio Martino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Norumbega's Gaspar Obeko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Venancio Martino in the 64th minute of play. Rodrigo Nataniel let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 66th minute shot 2-1 at rihgt post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Venancio Martino in the 70th minute of play forced Norumbega's goalkeeper Gaspar Obeko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Norumbega's zone, Venancio Martino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gaspar Obeko came out of the goal and Venancio Martino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Venancio Martino came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Club Deportivo Moreno fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Venancio Martino couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Venancio Martino in the 80th minute of play forced Norumbega's goalkeeper Gaspar Obeko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 82 minutes into the game, Flavio Mero was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Norumbega's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club Deportivo Moreno the free kick. Club Deportivo Moreno's supporters rose to their feet, but Venancio Martino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gaspar Obeko breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart.
