But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fabian Gartzea couldn't finish the play. Fabian Gartzea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Leonardo Nuñez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 43 minutes, Higinio Quintan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. BELGRANO's supporters crossed their fingers, but Higinio Quintan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The merlo unidos players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. BELGRANO were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fabian Gartzea stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Leonardo Nuñez came out of the goal in the 51st minute to try and stop a shot by merlo unidos's Hernan Ibar. But to his dismay, Hernan Ibar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Hernan Ibar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonardo Nuñez having to interfere. If Fabian Gartzea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 68 minutes into the game, Cirilo Unai was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. merlo unidos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave BELGRANO the free kick. After 68 played minutes merlo unidos got a freekick which was hit by Cirilo Unai. 71 minutes into the match, merlo unidos's goal looked a bit too open when Higinio Quintan came free, but Arnaldo Beliran reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 74 minutes into the game, Constantino Ur was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. BELGRANO's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave merlo unidos the free kick. In the 74th match minute, BELGRANO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Constantino Ur to maneuver through the defense. merlo unidos's Fabian Gartzea got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
