Marcos Sotero's late challenge caught a MACU FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marcos Sotero helped the player get up and apologised. After 9 played minutes Santiago del Estero F.C got a freekick which was hit by Marcos Sotero. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leonardo Lauro in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adan Otoniel saved Santiago del Estero F.C from getting behind. 18 minutes into the match, MACU FC's goalkeeper Aldo Orlandus had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Simon Loco. In the 25th minute, Mario Figueroa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 27 minutes into the match, Santiago del Estero F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Raul Vachon came free, but Adan Otoniel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Damaso Erdiano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Santiago del Estero F.C booed when MACU FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mario Figueroa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leonardo Lauro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Adan Otoniel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 37 minutes into the match, MACU FC's goal looked a bit too open when Marcos Sotero came free, but Aldo Orlandus reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aldo Orlandus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 40 minutes into the game, Arturo Chorache was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. MACU FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Santiago del Estero F.C the free kick. Arturo Chorache kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Mario Figueroa charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mario Figueroa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Leonardo Lauro to strike the kick off in the second half. When the match had gone on for 59 minutes, Raul Vachon put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Adan Otoniel. MACU FC's Raul Vachon got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Adan Otoniel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Leonardo Lauro's shot from short distance in the 94th minute. MACU FC's Aldo Orlandus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcos Sotero in the 99th minute of play. Santiago del Estero F.C's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
