Teo Frederico recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Arnaldo Jakobe hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. In the 21st minute, Teo Frederico left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Paraná FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Agustin Lehior received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Rogelio Benino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 27th minute, Agustin Lehior got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sebastian Dunixi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Ubendu having to interfere. Teo Frederico's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rogelio Benino read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. A long shot from Carlos Tome in the 43rd minute of play was well struck, but Fernando Ubendu made a really good save at the right post. Fernando Ubendu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Inocencio Berdoi in the 45th minute of play. If Inocencio Berdoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Agustin Lehior was the one to do the kick off. If Teo Frederico had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fernando Ubendu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Inocencio Berdoi in the 56th minute of play. Sebastian Dunixi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Ubendu having to interfere. Sebastian Dunixi struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Fernando Ubendu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Plate River. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Inocencio Berdoi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Plate River's supporters rose to their feet, but Inocencio Berdoi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fernando Ubendu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Plate River manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Paraná FC to win.
