Leo Uxio took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 9th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Candido Osasun. Fortuna's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Claudio Venerando's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 21stth minute, Candido Osasun skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Astor Laurin's late challenge caught a ChachoMar's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Astor Laurin helped the player get up and apologised. Astor Laurin kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. If Claudio Venerando had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. ChachoMar's Luis Polo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivan Hustaz in the 27th minute of play. Luis Polo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Virgilio Ireno in the 34th minute of play. When Filomeno Moise came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the ChachoMar fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Filomeno Moise couldn't finish the play. Astor Laurin hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Filomeno Moise stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Claudio Venerando had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Fortuna's zone, Filomeno Moise stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Candido Osasun came out of the goal and Filomeno Moise tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Virgilio Ireno struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Luis Polo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fortuna. Through an outstanding action, after 63 minutes, Luis Polo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. ChachoMar's Claudio Venerando got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Claudio Venerando sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Aristides George fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fortuna's protests and gave Aristides George a yellow card for diving instead. Aristides George hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudio Venerando in the 81st minute of play forced Fortuna's goalkeeper Candido Osasun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 89 played minutes ChachoMar got a freekick which was hit by Sergio Domiku. Virgilio Ireno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luis Polo having to interfere. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
