The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Guatana getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Genaro Eusko hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Guatana's zone, Americo Gora stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ovidio Heli came out of the goal and Americo Gora tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 31 minutes into the match, Guatana's goalkeeper Ovidio Heli had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Americo Gora. Anastasio Vergaray received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Ovidio Heli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Club Atlético Juarense's Anastasio Vergaray got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 37 minutes into the match, Guatana's goal looked a bit too open when Anastasio Vergaray came free, but Ovidio Heli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Aureliano Rufo made a kick off. When Cristóvão Prado fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Atlético Juarense's protests and gave Cristóvão Prado a yellow card for diving instead. Ovidio Heli breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 83 minutes into the game, Nicanor Paublo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Atlético Juarense's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guatana the free kick. The supporters of Guatana booed when Club Atlético Juarense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicanor Paublo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Anastasio Vergaray sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
