In the 11th minute, Aquilino Mattin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fabian Abella fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Esteve Larra having to interfere. After 20 played minutes Darlington F.C 1883 got a freekick which was hit by Serafino Dolcet. After 22 minutes of play, Darlington F.C 1883's Aquilino Mattin made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Isidoro Breogan was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Artemio Meder took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Isidoro Breogan to make any attempt to save it. After 35 minutes, Anastasio Bernabel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Darlington F.C 1883 and the Unión players grew even worse after the yellow card. 38 minutes into the match, Unión's Victorino Maurin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Esteve Larra narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santos Ihintza in the 41st minute of play forced Unión's goalkeeper Isidoro Breogan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fabian Abella succeeded in the game's 45th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The wind increased when Fabian Abella made the kick off in the second half. Darlington F.C 1883's Esteve Larra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabian Abella in the 65th minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Darlington F.C 1883 fans cheered their team off the field, for while Unión had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
