Spectators: 6652 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1652, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Marco Urtats started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gaston Medina in the 3rd minute of play forced Castelli FC's goalkeeper Evaristo Hernando to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Gaston Medina managed to get in a good position for a shot. River Plate's supporters rose to their feet, but Gaston Medina was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Evaristo Hernando breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marco Urtats might have been able to make a better finish in the 9th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Victorino Lope. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marco Urtats ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 9th play minute Dionisio Confesor came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Victorino Lope. 1-0. Evaristo Hernando showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gaston Medina, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. 15 minutes into the game, Dionisio Confesor was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Castelli FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave River Plate the free kick. After a rather tough play, Castelli FC's Dionisio Confesor got a free kick in the 15th minute. Evaristo Hernando stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dalmacio Faro's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. In the 27thth minute of the game Gaston Medina who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Castelli FC's Evaristo Hernando was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dalmacio Faro in the 28th minute of play forced Castelli FC's goalkeeper Evaristo Hernando to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gaston Medina received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Evaristo Hernando tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dalmacio Faro might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Evaristo Hernando. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dalmacio Faro ran back to his position shaking his head. River Plate's Victorino Lope played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco Urtats in the 39th minute of play. Castelli FC's Dionisio Confesor got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gaston Medina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dalmacio Faro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 56th match minute, Castelli FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gregorio Monico to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 57 minutes, Gaston Medina managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. River Plate's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gaston Medina was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Castelli FC's zone, Gaston Medina stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Evaristo Hernando came out of the goal and Gaston Medina tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 60 played minutes Castelli FC got a freekick which was hit by Gregorio Monico. Constantino Breogan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evaristo Hernando having to interfere. Gregorio Monico's late challenge caught a River Plate's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gregorio Monico helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Castelli FC's Gregorio Monico got a free kick in the 68th minute. Evaristo Hernando made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Gaston Medina sent off a good shot on target. If Dalmacio Faro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gaston Medina received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Evaristo Hernando tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 75 minutes, Marco Urtats made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. River Plate's Victorino Lope tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Evaristo Hernando was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Ignacio Indartsu. 85 minutes into the match, Gaston Medina notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Castelli FC's Evaristo Hernando. Evaristo Hernando was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Marco Urtats recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 93rd minute, Marco Urtats ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Victorino Lope was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Castelli FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while River Plate had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
