In the 18th minute of the game, Julian Policarpio landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. After 18 minutes, Jonas Innocenzio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the El Lider and the Atlético Mendobus players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jonas Innocenzio kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. 1-0 became the score in the 20th minute when Celso Gorri elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After 23 minutes, Celso Baristo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the El Lider and the Atlético Mendobus players grew even worse after the yellow card. The goalkeeper, Horacio Feliz, was totally fooled by Atlético Mendobus's Anastasio Dalmu, who 25 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. 28 minutes into the match, El Lider's goalkeeper Horacio Feliz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Celso Gorri. Horacio Feliz made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Celso Gorri sent off a good shot on target. Celso Gorri could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Horacio Feliz made a huge save. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Domingos Vellito to strike the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the game, Celso Gorri cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Horacio Feliz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Atlético Mendobus's Dalmacio Idacio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonas Innocenzio in the 62nd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Benicio Erasto during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Atlético Mendobus fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 64th minute. Penalty! In the 66th minute there was a penalty for El Lider. Jonas Innocenzio stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Dalmacio Idacio. 3-1. If Celso Gorri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. After a defensive mix-up in El Lider's zone, Celso Gorri stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Horacio Feliz came out of the goal and Celso Gorri tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Feliciano Gil in the 87th minute of play forced El Lider's goalkeeper Horacio Feliz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Celso Gorri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Horacio Feliz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Celso Gorri came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Atlético Mendobus fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Celso Gorri couldn't finish the play. Clodoveo Jerico hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the El Lider players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Atlético Mendobus.
