Abel Lluterio charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Abel Lluterio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The Blue White's Bernabe Koldo was substituted for Hermengildo Abajas. In the 32nd minute, one of River Plate:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for River Plate. After 41 minutes of play, River Plate's Guaberto Berasko made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eleuterio Beltxe was left in no man's land by his defense there! All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After a defensive mix-up in River Plate's zone, Honorato Machado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernando Tulio came out of the goal and Honorato Machado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to River Plate getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Abel Lluterio hit a great ball. After 69 played minutes, The Blue White's Placido Bonifaco shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fernando Tulio came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in The Blue White reached it. 78 minutes into the match, River Plate's goal looked a bit too open when Honorato Machado came free, but Fernando Tulio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 81 minutes of play, The Blue White's Bernabe Koldo made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fernando Tulio was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bernabe Koldo in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fernando Tulio saved River Plate from getting behind. 92 minutes into the game, Inocencio Jusepe cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-2. Fernando Tulio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. There was no doubt that The Blue White were the better team. The Blue White's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
