With a little luck, VOLCANOS FC's Leonides Vidal got control of the ball when Celedonio Cugat tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nereo Gomez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Leonides Vidal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Celedonio Cugat came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the C.A. PEGASO fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Celedonio Cugat couldn't finish the play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nereo Gomez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind C.A. PEGASO's goalkeeper Clemente Niva, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
