Gilberto Alonso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Esteve Jurdan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Esteve Jurdan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

After 58 played minutes, Huascha's Narciso Hunfredo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Wilfredo Claude came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Huascha reached it. Gilberto Alonso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Delmiro Mingo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gilberto Alonso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ladislao Licerio in the 89th minute of the match. Ladislao Licerio received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gilberto Alonso came out and tried to block the shot, but Ladislao Licerio slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 92nd minute. Club Mercedes's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
