After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Lucio Cordara managed to get in a good position for a shot. Estudiantes de La Plata's supporters rose to their feet, but Lucio Cordara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dario Gartzea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Santiago Iraitz took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dario Gartzea. Dario Gartzea dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Tadeo Beltza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jesus Santio, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Elton Gažo lost his temper 33 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in X-F8 fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 32nd minute. Penalty! Dario Gartzea made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Paulino Hernandez sent off a good shot on target. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Laureano Ferrando in the 52nd minute of play forced X-F8's goalkeeper Dario Gartzea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dario Gartzea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucio Cordara, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. After a rather tough play, X-F8's Pablo Pere got a free kick in the 55th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Paulino Hernandez in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dario Gartzea saved X-F8 from getting behind.
