Thanks to some nice moves Jorge Gonsalve could shoot a difficult shot in the 23rd minute, which Tadeo Beltza however easily saved by the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jorge Gonsalve got free with Tadeo Beltza in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Paulino Hernandez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 33 played minutes Estudiantes de La Plata got a freekick which was hit by Fernando Castulo. When Estudiantes de La Plata's Paulino Hernandez in the 37th minute got a chance for a shot 37th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Paulino Hernandez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Marco Ponciano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Paulino Hernandez, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 44 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Marco Ponciano was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. If Lucio Cordara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Paulino Hernandez was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ubaldo Frascuelo in the 54th minute of play forced Estudiantes de La Plata's goalkeeper Tadeo Beltza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Menucos getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Fernan Burni hit a great ball. Paulino Hernandez in the 74thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Marco Ponciano, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 76th minute, Jorge Gonsalve hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Estudiantes de La Plata defense, Ubaldo Frascuelo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tadeo Beltza. The Estudiantes de La Plata fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tadeo Beltza should have stopped the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Pedro Naldo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Marco Ponciano. That made the score 4-1 in the 83 minute of play. The supporters of Menucos booed when Estudiantes de La Plata was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Naldo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 87 minutes into the match, Fernan Burni had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tadeo Beltza. Estudiantes de La Plata's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fernan Burni was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. After 90 minutes, Lucio Cordara mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Estudiantes de La Plata and the Menucos players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 90 played minutes Estudiantes de La Plata got a freekick which was hit by Lucio Cordara. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Menucos fans cheered their team off the field, for while Estudiantes de La Plata had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
