Calchaqui's Dante Koldo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Everardo Medero in the 6th minute of play. 8 minutes into the match, Charrúas FC's goalkeeper Eliseo Tristan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Artemio Elivareo. Igor Ibon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dante Koldo having to interfere. Charrúas FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 17th minute, when Honorio Harkaitz scored to the left of an out of position Eliseo Tristan, making the score, 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Omar Batistuta in the 20th minute of play forced Charrúas FC's goalkeeper Eliseo Tristan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 21st minute Calchaqui were awarded a corner. Artemio Elivareo went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Calchaqui's corner Artemio Elivareo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Eliseo Tristan quite easily take care of the ball. Calchaqui's Lázaro Lico quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Victor Huly, made in the 23rd minute of the game. Dante Koldo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Everardo Medero in the 37th minute of play. Dante Koldo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Everardo Medero, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Omar Batistuta got free with Eliseo Tristan in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Everardo Medero made a kick off. Eliseo Tristan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Omar Batistuta went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Honorio Harkaitz took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eliseo Tristan. Eliseo Tristan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Eliseo Tristan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Honorio Harkaitz's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. 60 minutes into the game, Honorio Harkaitz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Eliseo Tristan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Igor Ibon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 66th minute Cristo Bikendi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliseo Tristan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Charrúas FC getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Everardo Medero hit a great ball. Alberto Iigo struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Eliseo Tristan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Calchaqui. Calchaqui's Emilio Abastas quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Elias Bernabel, made in the 79th minute of the game. After some careless play in the Charrúas FC defense, Honorio Harkaitz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eliseo Tristan. The Charrúas FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eliseo Tristan should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Omar Batistuta in the 83rd minute of play forced Charrúas FC's goalkeeper Eliseo Tristan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Igor Ibon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Igor Ibon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Dante Koldo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 91st match minute, Calchaqui was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lázaro Lico to maneuver through the defense. Dante Koldo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Igor Ibon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Francisco Aballe lost his temper 96 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. When the match had been going on for 98 minutes, Charrúas FC's Everardo Medero got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Dante Koldo.
