The supporters of Altillo booed when Cabal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomás Sauveur didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Altillo's Ramon George tried to score from far away in the 24th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. When Siro Osorio came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Altillo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Siro Osorio couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Christian Burni in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Astor Cordeiro saved Cabal from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Cabal's Rosendo Gimenez got a free kick in the 32nd minute. After recieving a nice pass, Altillo's Ramon George tried to score from far away in the 33rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Astor Cordeiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Siro Osorio, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Prudencio Salvator recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Siro Osorio might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Astor Cordeiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Siro Osorio ran back to his position shaking his head. Altillo's Siro Osorio got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Evaristo Gurutz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cabal's supporters rose to their feet, but Evaristo Gurutz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lucas Domingues breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Siro Osorio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Christian Burni got free with Astor Cordeiro in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 65 minutes into the game, Virgilio Vergaray was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Altillo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cabal the free kick. Christian Burni hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Altillo walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
