Burzaco FC's Honorio Chayo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernardo Refugio in the 17th minute of play. With a little luck, Pichincha's Raul Erruki got control of the ball when Ermegildo Goi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bernardo Refugio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Honorio Chayo having to interfere. In the 21st minute, Bernardo Refugio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pichincha fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Honorio Chayo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bernardo Refugio's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. In the 28th minute Bernardo Refugio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Honorio Chayo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bernardo Refugio in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Honorio Chayo saved Burzaco FC from getting behind. In the 31st minute, Generoso Roland hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Angelo Jobo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Burzaco FC's goalkeeper Honorio Chayo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Pichincha's Bernardo Refugio in the 47th minute got a chance for a shot 47th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bernardo Refugio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mateo Firme charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Pichincha's supporters rose to their feet, but Angelo Jobo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Honorio Chayo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With 61 minutes on the clock, Serafino Savier commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 68th match minute, Burzaco FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Generoso Roland to maneuver through the defense. Pichincha's Bernardo Refugio couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 69th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Burzaco FC. Arnoldo Polo's late challenge caught a Pichincha's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arnoldo Polo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 70th match minute, Burzaco FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnoldo Polo to maneuver through the defense. In the 73rdth minute of the game Bernardo Refugio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Burzaco FC's Honorio Chayo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Generoso Roland fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Burzaco FC's protests and gave Generoso Roland a yellow card for diving instead. The audience was convinced that Bernardo Refugio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Honorio Chayo was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. Generoso Roland kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Bernardo Refugio had several of the Burzaco FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 84 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-2 score and a disappointed Honorio Chayo as he didn't even see the shot coming. Bruno Loramendi kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. In the 90th match minute, Burzaco FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilberto Sindo to maneuver through the defense. With his leg Honorio Chayo managed to avoid a goal in the 92ndth minute, when Pichincha's Bernardo Refugio fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Pichincha played a much better game than Burzaco FC and deserved their victory. The Burzaco FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
