In the 9th minute, Efrain Joachim fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 11th minute Siro Rozarius shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artemio Larpe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Artemio Larpe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dario Asteri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 17 played minutes, El Tifón de Boyacá's David Gilesindo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Artemio Larpe came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in El Tifón de Boyacá reached it. 21 minutes into the match, El Tifón de Boyacá's goal looked a bit too open when Amado Porfirio came free, but Cleto Umbruso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, El Tifón de Boyacá's goalkeeper Cleto Umbruso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Efrain Joachim. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ermegildo Isias in the 24th minute of play forced El Tifón de Boyacá's goalkeeper Cleto Umbruso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dario Asteri struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Artemio Larpe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for El Tifón de Boyacá. After having played for 30 minutes, Albino Basajaun managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. El Tifón de Boyacá's supporters crossed their fingers, but Albino Basajaun was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Club Deportivo San Martin's zone, Albino Basajaun stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Artemio Larpe came out of the goal and Albino Basajaun tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Siro Rozarius took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Artemio Larpe. Artemio Larpe dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. The supporters of Club Deportivo San Martin booed when El Tifón de Boyacá was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Santo Erramun didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ermegildo Isias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cleto Umbruso having to interfere. Dario Asteri, 42 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Artemio Larpe came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by El Tifón de Boyacá's Albino Basajaun. But to his dismay, Albino Basajaun quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After the first half El Tifón de Boyacá were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ermegildo Isias stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 52 minutes, David Gilesindo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the El Tifón de Boyacá and the Club Deportivo San Martin players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 52nd match minute, El Tifón de Boyacá was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Gilesindo to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Albino Basajaun in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Artemio Larpe prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpected shot in the 59th minute by Siro Rozarius got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Artemio Larpe made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Siro Rozarius sent off a good shot on target. Club Deportivo San Martin's Artemio Larpe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albino Basajaun in the 63rd minute of play. If Dario Asteri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Albino Basajaun received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Artemio Larpe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. El Tifón de Boyacá's David Gilesindo shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 73rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Artemio Larpe but with some difficulty. 76 minutes into the match, Siro Rozarius notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Club Deportivo San Martin's Artemio Larpe. Artemio Larpe was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cleto Umbruso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amado Porfirio in the 80th minute of play. Artemio Larpe was out of position in the 81 minute of play, and Siro Rozarius capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Siro Rozarius really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. 85 minutes into the game, Club Deportivo San Martin's Ermegildo Isias nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cleto Umbruso made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. Siro Rozarius received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Artemio Larpe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelo Euloxu in the 94th minute of play forced Club Deportivo San Martin's goalkeeper Artemio Larpe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to El Tifón de Boyacá getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. David Gilesindo hit a great ball. Efrain Joachim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
