The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, Mojigasta's Gustavo Orti got control of the ball when Mariano Torres tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 24th minute, one of Chapu FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Chapu FC. If Mariano Torres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benicio Lluc in the 35th minute of play forced Chapu FC's goalkeeper Alejandro Gitano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match clock showed 39 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Fausto Oihenarte sped through Chapu FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Alejandro Gitano.
