El ciclon Gambito's manager was very thankful on the sidelines as his team had managed to keep the ball out of the net after some serious pressure by Deportivo Mbarete. Edgard Gaztea could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Remigio Giraldo made a huge save. If Lucas Madaleno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gervasio Hitz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Florentino Rexino, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Deportivo Mbarete's Edgard Gaztea got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Deportivo Mbarete's Gervasio Hitz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardo Estebe in the 34th minute of play. After 35 minutes, Blas Oskarbi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Deportivo Mbarete and the El ciclon Gambito players grew even worse after the yellow card. 34 minutes into the game, one of Deportivo Mbarete:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 37th minute there was a penalty for El ciclon Gambito. Remigio Erauso stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Gervasio Hitz. 0-1. In the 41st minute, Luciano Heriberto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Blas Oskarbi missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 44 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Remigio Giraldo right hand side. With a little luck, El ciclon Gambito's Remigio Giraldo got control of the ball when Edgard Gaztea tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Deportivo Mbarete players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. El ciclon Gambito were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ezequiel Senen was the one to do the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pedro Castulo got free with Gervasio Hitz in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 55 played minutes Ezequiel Senen could catch the ball where he stood relatively free a bit outside the goal and without hesitation he completed 0-2 into the left cross. The audience was convinced that Lucas Madaleno's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Remigio Giraldo was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. Pedro Castulo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Edgard Gaztea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remigio Giraldo having to interfere. Gervasio Hitz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ezequiel Senen showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 71 minute of play. Gervasio Hitz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ezequiel Senen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Lucas Madaleno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Christian Romano fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Deportivo Mbarete's protests and gave Christian Romano a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Deportivo Mbarete getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Christian Romano hit a great ball. In the 86th minute, Elpidio Sandaili hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pedro Castulo in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gervasio Hitz saved Deportivo Mbarete from getting behind. In the 95th minute, Pedro Castulo fired away a shot that was totally unreachable for Gervasio Hitz. The ball ended up just outside the left post, and El ciclon Gambito's manager could be seen angrily pacing the sidelines. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. El ciclon Gambito walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
