Salvador Derwin's late challenge caught a Los Hornos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Salvador Derwin helped the player get up and apologised. In the 7th minute, one of Chacarita:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Chacarita. In the 9th minute there was a penalty for Los Hornos FC. Ernesto Gabino stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Placido Behe. 1-0. Dalmacio Blasi scored 1-1 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alfonso Marquez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Chacarita's zone, Dionisio Peyo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Placido Behe came out of the goal and Dionisio Peyo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Anier Arotza came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Los Hornos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anier Arotza couldn't finish the play. If Fabio Incendio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fabio Incendio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Alfonso Marquez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Los Hornos FC's zone, Fabio Incendio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfonso Marquez came out of the goal and Fabio Incendio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Chacarita's Dalmacio Blasi got a free kick in the 41st minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fernan Selatse during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 43rd minute, Fernan Selatse hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 48 minutes into the match, Chacarita's goal looked a bit too open when Anier Arotza came free, but Placido Behe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Anier Arotza was the one to do the kick off. Alfonso Marquez made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Fabio Incendio sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Los Hornos FC's Alfonso Marquez got control of the ball when Severo Virila tried to sneak it across the goal line. 58 minutes into the match, Chacarita's Fabio Incendio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alfonso Marquez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Anier Arotza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alfonso Marquez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dalmacio Blasi, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. In the 66th minute, Dalmacio Blasi fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After 75 played minutes Chacarita got a freekick which was hit by Narciso Deunoro. Dalmacio Blasi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dionisio Peyo struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Placido Behe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Los Hornos FC. In the 91st minute Dionisio Peyo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Placido Behe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Chacarita booed when Los Hornos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernesto Gabino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fernan Selatse missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 96 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Alfonso Marquez right hand side.
