In the 13th minute Honorio Otsoko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Octavio Maldonado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Rene Gutxi came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the rosarioCentral fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rene Gutxi couldn't finish the play. Jacinto Pero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Octavio Maldonado made an important save on a dangerous shot by Saverio Marquez in the 35th minute. Amador Bento made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rene Gutxi in the 37th minute of play. In the 39th minute of the match Ismael Tebaldo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Octavio Maldonado showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Saverio Marquez took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Octavio Maldonado. Octavio Maldonado dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. rosarioCentral's Octavio Maldonado proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save rosarioCentral from getting a goal against them. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Octavio Maldonado didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Saverio Marquez went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Amador Bento made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rene Gutxi in the 63rd minute. A collision led to Veleros getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Marciano Giro hit a great ball. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind rosarioCentral's goalkeeper Octavio Maldonado, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Honorio Otsoko's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Octavio Maldonado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. Segundo Ibon's late challenge caught a Veleros's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Segundo Ibon helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of rosarioCentral booed when Veleros was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emilio Hernando didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Veleros's zone, Rene Gutxi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amador Bento came out of the goal and Rene Gutxi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Amador Bento made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacinto Pero in the 91st minute of play. The rosarioCentral fans' excitement grew in the 93rd match minute when rosarioCentral's Rene Gutxi looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
