Despite this Evaristo Veremundo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Severino Olentzaro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evaristo Veremundo having to interfere. Severino Olentzaro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Evaristo Veremundo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Evaristo Veremundo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eleuterio Rosalio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Tinta Calamar booed when BOCA JUNIORS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valentin Larpe didn't get a good kick on the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cristobal Pepillo was the one to do the kick off. But to his dismay, Eleuterio Rosalio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In a very dangerous position, a player in Tinta Calamar fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 80th minute. Penalty! 86 minutes into the match, Tinta Calamar's goal looked a bit too open when Cristobal Pepillo came free, but Fermin Otsoa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in BOCA JUNIORS's zone, Eleuterio Rosalio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Evaristo Veremundo came out of the goal and Eleuterio Rosalio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Hernan Lander came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Tinta Calamar fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hernan Lander couldn't finish the play. BOCA JUNIORS's Evaristo Veremundo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eleuterio Rosalio in the 95th minute of play.
