La Chilinga FC's players were relieved. BOCA JUNIORS's Evaristo Veremundo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victorio Veronica in the 44th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in La Chilinga FC's zone, Cristobal Pepillo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cleto Jerrald came out of the goal and Cristobal Pepillo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Benito Galoer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benito Galoer in the 54th minute of play forced BOCA JUNIORS's goalkeeper Evaristo Veremundo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Teo Maiorga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
