The coaching staff of Hermetica FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Alejo Sanson had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 25th minute of the game. One of Hermetica FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Mencué:s goal. In the 37th minute Leopoldo Atarratze shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ovidio Izotz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 41 minutes into the match, Godofredo Baumar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Horacio Arias. Hermetica FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Godofredo Baumar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Leopoldo Atarratze took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Ovidio Izotz to make any attempt to save it. Horacio Arias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nestor Aimar, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Amado Fernandes struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Ovidio Izotz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hermetica FC. Hermetica FC's Leopoldo Atarratze got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Elias Chuse received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Ovidio Izotz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leopoldo Atarratze who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 69thth minute tested the skills of Ovidio Izotz when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 76th minute of the match Jaime Sengrat sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Horacio Arias skillfully saved the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Amado Fernandes during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
