Ariel Karlo charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ariel Karlo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Bonifacio Norino made an important save on a dangerous shot by Maximiliano Iratzeder in the 18th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damian Jorrin in the 38th minute of play forced Formosa FC's goalkeeper Elpidio Elia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Maximiliano Iratzeder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Isaac Rozarius's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bonifacio Norino read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. Maximiliano Iratzeder's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Bonifacio Norino firmly grabbed it by the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Godfredo Gipuzkoa got free with Bonifacio Norino in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Maximiliano Iratzeder sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cesar Toribio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Patricio Sandalio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 83rd minute, Ovidio Maria hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 85th minute Maximiliano Iratzeder shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bonifacio Norino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Isaac Rozarius sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Formosa FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
