Elpidio Gumaro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 88 minutes into the match, Sebastian Abreu notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Merlongas's Fabio Maria. Fabio Maria was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 94 minutes into the match, Merlongas's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastian Abreu came free, but Fabio Maria reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle, Chapaleofú FC could leave the field as winners, despite Merlongas having more of the ball for most of the match.
