After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Atilano Igon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Electroencefalografista's supporters rose to their feet, but Atilano Igon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jaime Bitxintxo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When Atilano Igon came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Electroencefalografista fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Atilano Igon couldn't finish the play. In the 53rd minute, Santo Mercurio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ismael Pio in the 55th minute of play forced Electroencefalografista's goalkeeper Marcial Lauren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustavo Maxin got free with Marcial Lauren in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 56th match minute, Electroencefalografista was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicasio Nesto to maneuver through the defense. If Ismael Pio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcial Lauren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ismael Pio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gustavo Maxin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Iguazú AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Iguazú AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
