Spectators: 6663 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1663, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Epifanio Chorche got the match started through his kick off. Pedernal's Donato Casado got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Institucion Sarmiento's zone, Epifanio Chorche stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristian Maule came out of the goal and Epifanio Chorche tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Epifanio Chorche had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 10 minutes, Epifanio Chorche managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pedernal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Epifanio Chorche was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 12 minutes into the match, Pedernal's Epifanio Chorche sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cristian Maule narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Mario Abancens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Anastasio Perez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 22nd minute of the match Alfredo Rafe shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Anastasio Perez showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Leonides Caitano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mario Abancens in the 28th minute of play forced Pedernal's goalkeeper Anastasio Perez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 29 minutes, Mario Abancens managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Institucion Sarmiento's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mario Abancens was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Donato Casado's late challenge caught a Institucion Sarmiento's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Donato Casado helped the player get up and apologised. In the 31st match minute, Pedernal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donato Casado to maneuver through the defense. Leonides Caitano's late challenge caught a Pedernal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leonides Caitano helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Pedernal booed when Institucion Sarmiento was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonides Caitano didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Institucion Sarmiento's goalkeeper Cristian Maule, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 47 minutes into the match, Pedernal's goal looked a bit too open when Leonides Caitano came free, but Anastasio Perez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Leonides Caitano came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Institucion Sarmiento fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leonides Caitano couldn't finish the play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Leonides Caitano to make the kick off. If Ignacio Berriotxoa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alfredo Rafe took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 59th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Anastasio Perez. Pedernal's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A collision led to Institucion Sarmiento getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Aquilino Mark hit a great ball. After 65 played minutes, Pedernal's Tiburcio Gaskon shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Cristian Maule came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Pedernal reached it. Cristian Maule stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Donato Casado's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. If Epifanio Chorche had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 70th minute, Epifanio Chorche made a precise shot to the right of Cristian Maule. Institucion Sarmiento's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. A collision led to Pedernal getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Rigoberto Lorenz hit a great ball. Institucion Sarmiento's Alfredo Rafe shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 75th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Anastasio Perez but with some difficulty. Cristian Maule showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Donato Casado in the 79th minute of the match. Ramon Checa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leonides Caitano might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Anastasio Perez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leonides Caitano ran back to his position shaking his head. Horacio Txilar's late challenge caught a Institucion Sarmiento's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Horacio Txilar helped the player get up and apologised. When the match had been going on for 98 minutes, Institucion Sarmiento's Alfredo Rafe got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Anastasio Perez. Institucion Sarmiento's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
