The supporters of River plate booed when Palmar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Efrain Salbatore didn't get a good kick on the ball. 21 minutes into the game, Leopoldo Etxahun was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Palmar's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave River plate the free kick. Leopoldo Etxahun hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Pastor Acevedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eugenio Donzel in the 53rd minute of the match. In the 78th minute, Juan Mosen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Emiliano Monico was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. 86 minutes into the game, Aurelio Leguizamón cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Pastor Acevedo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Pastor Acevedo made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Eugenio Donzel sent off a good shot on target. 90 minutes into the match, Eusebio Canor had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Emiliano Monico. Palmar's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eusebio Canor was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. River plate's Eusebio Canor got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
