Acorazado Potemkin's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jimeno Kepa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Banfield booed when Acorazado Potemkin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Augusto Aresti didn't get a good kick on the ball. With 9 minutes on the clock, Felipe Lop commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 9 minutes into the game, one of Acorazado Potemkin:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Gualterio Udalaitz shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Felipe Manilan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Freddy Paz having to interfere. Gualterio Udalaitz hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Felipe Manilan struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Freddy Paz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Acorazado Potemkin. When Jimeno Kepa came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Acorazado Potemkin fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jimeno Kepa couldn't finish the play. The Acorazado Potemkin fans' excitement grew in the 30th match minute when Acorazado Potemkin's Jimeno Kepa looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 32 minutes into the match, Banfield's goal looked a bit too open when Jimeno Kepa came free, but Freddy Paz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 33rd minute, Freddy Bertol hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 38th minute of the match Augusto Aresti shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Freddy Paz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Felipe Manilan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Acorazado Potemkin's Felipe Manilan got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Freddy Paz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jimeno Kepa in the 43rd minute of play. 47 minutes into the match, Banfield's goal looked a bit too open when Felipe Manilan came free, but Freddy Paz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Delmiro Iyan to make the kick off. Desiderio Galtero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leandro Arano, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Delmiro Iyan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristo Claude hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Delmiro Iyan scored 1-1 in the 61st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Desiderio Galtero, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Acorazado Potemkin's Jacobo Jenaro was substituted for Federico Gorbea. Vinicio Claris hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felipe Manilan got free with Freddy Paz in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 72nd match minute, Banfield was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Modesto Marcones to maneuver through the defense. Acorazado Potemkin's Geronimo Urritz was substituted for Hipolito Gutxi. A collision led to Banfield getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Modesto Marcones hit a great ball. After having played for 75 minutes, Jimeno Kepa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Acorazado Potemkin's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jimeno Kepa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Freddy Paz came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Acorazado Potemkin's Felipe Manilan. But to his dismay, Felipe Manilan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Acorazado Potemkin's Lino Donio was substituted for Augusto Aresti. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Jimeno Kepa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Acorazado Potemkin's supporters rose to their feet, but Jimeno Kepa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Freddy Paz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Acorazado Potemkin walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
