The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Vilismán AFC's Narciso Benitez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Atilano Erruki in the 14th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Vilismán AFC's zone, Juan Mosen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Narciso Benitez came out of the goal and Juan Mosen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 17th minute, Vilismán AFC's Dario Boni ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Pastor Acevedo. Pastor Acevedo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. In the 21st minute, Juan Mosen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The River plate fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. 30 minutes into the match, Juan Mosen notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Vilismán AFC's Narciso Benitez. Narciso Benitez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 35th minute Christian Abascal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pastor Acevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 38th minute, Arturo Barros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 40 minutes, Atilano Erruki managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. River plate's supporters crossed their fingers, but Atilano Erruki was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eusebio Canor recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Eusebio Canor managed to get in a good position for a shot. River plate's supporters rose to their feet, but Eusebio Canor was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Narciso Benitez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eusebio Canor made a kick off. Ernesto Egoi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arturo Barros kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. If Ernesto Egoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 56 minutes into the match, River plate's goal looked a bit too open when Dario Boni came free, but Pastor Acevedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Blas Ekain kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Uriel Javiero hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Eusebio Canor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Narciso Benitez having to interfere. Vilismán AFC's Narciso Benitez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juan Mosen in the 80th minute of play. A hard shot 82 in the game by Eusebio Canor from a close distance when the talented Narciso Benitez managed to make a qualified save. Vilismán AFC's players were relieved. After having played for 84 minutes, Atilano Erruki managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. River plate's supporters crossed their fingers, but Atilano Erruki was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Vilismán AFC's goalkeeper Narciso Benitez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Atilano Erruki made a great header on River plate's corner, it was just that Vilismán AFC's Narciso Benitez managed to reach the ball for a save. The Vilismán AFC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. River plate were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
