In the 22nd minute Nemesio Piorno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enrique Grabiel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roman Lopes made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Nereo Lizardi sent off a good shot on target. After 40 played minutes Chelco AFC got a freekick which was hit by Manuel Cresencio. After 46 played minutes San Fernando FC got a freekick which was hit by Adrian Guifre. 48 minutes into the match, San Fernando FC's goalkeeper Roman Lopes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Guaberto Martinez. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Victor Erdiano to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind San Fernando FC's goalkeeper Roman Lopes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Nereo Lizardi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roman Lopes having to interfere. Fausto Gorka struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Roman Lopes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chelco AFC. 63 minutes into the match, San Fernando FC's goal looked a bit too open when Nereo Lizardi came free, but Roman Lopes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Nereo Lizardi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chelco AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Nereo Lizardi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roman Lopes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 70 minutes into the match, San Fernando FC's goal looked a bit too open when Nereo Lizardi came free, but Roman Lopes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fausto Gorka received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Roman Lopes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alfredo Abadia charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alfredo Abadia the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Nereo Lizardi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Roman Lopes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fausto Gorka, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Angelino Pinto charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Angelino Pinto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Angelino Pinto hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. In the 87th match minute, Chelco AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guaberto Martinez to maneuver through the defense. Nemesio Piorno hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. After 93 played minutes San Fernando FC got a freekick which was hit by Nemesio Piorno. San Fernando FC's Roman Lopes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nereo Lizardi in the 95th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Chelco AFC had won after a very even match.
