When Ruperto Bernard came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Sorete FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ruperto Bernard couldn't finish the play. Godfredo Pudes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. German Normando made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sixto Sotil in the 31st minute of play. If Ruperto Bernard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Sorete FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Deportivo Leña y Leña the free kick. Arnaldo Luix hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match.
