After a defensive mix-up in Nacional Football Club's zone, Ciriaco Chus stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jaime Beturian came out of the goal and Ciriaco Chus tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 17th minute Teodosio Sarracino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaime Beturian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 19 minutes into the match, Chumillo AFC's Teodosio Sarracino sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jaime Beturian narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Teodosio Sarracino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hermengildo Azeari during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ciriaco Chus stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
