Fernando Dalmai recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Esteban Romo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Federico Bero, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. When the match clock showed 27 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Federico Bero sped through Chumillo AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Esteban Romo. The Vikingo FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Chumillo AFC's Esteban Romo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernabe Erruki in the 48th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

After a defensive mix-up in Chumillo AFC's zone, Federico Bero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Esteban Romo came out of the goal and Federico Bero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Esteban Romo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Federico Bero in the 82nd minute of the match. Bernabe Erruki's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Esteban Romo firmly grabbed it by the left post. If Bernabe Erruki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match was over Vikingo FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Chumillo AFC throughout the match.
