The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Aureliano Roldanillo fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Saenz Peña's protests and gave Aureliano Roldanillo a yellow card for diving instead. After 6 played minutes Club Saenz Peña got a freekick which was hit by Aureliano Roldanillo. If Ricardo Boni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 10th minute, Everardo Tibalt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gogo Montae showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricardo Boni in the 13th minute of the match. In the 15th match minute, Club Saenz Peña was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aureliano Roldanillo to maneuver through the defense. Club Saenz Peña's Pablo Llanos got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee gave Intersport FC a penalty, 23 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Enrique Mikelats, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Club Saenz Peña's Paulo Beltxe. 0-1. In the 30th minute, Pablo Llanos made a precise shot to the right of Gogo Montae. Intersport FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Pablo Llanoss short, quick shot in the 39thth minute got Gogo Montae to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Pablo Llanos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pablo Llanos got free with Gogo Montae in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Marcelo Jaen made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Rolando Malvin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Intersport FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Rolando Malvin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulo Beltxe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 65 minutes, Ricardo Boni managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Saenz Peña's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ricardo Boni was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gogo Montae showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pablo Llanos, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Pablo Llanos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Saenz Peña's supporters rose to their feet, but Pablo Llanos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gogo Montae breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Paulo Beltxe made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Rolando Malvin sent off a good shot on target. Elvio Abarca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Club Saenz Peña getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Pablo Llanos hit a great ball. In the 96th minute, Pablo Llanos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Intersport FC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Club Saenz Peña had controlled the match.
