After 15 played minutes Club Saenz Peña got a freekick which was hit by Agustin Lia. In the 20th minute, Elias Iruinea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Pablo Llanos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Saenz Peña's supporters rose to their feet, but Pablo Llanos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. CyB Ramón Santamarina's Jesus Blai got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jesus Blai got free with Paulo Beltxe in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 48th minute, Laureano Faron got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ricardo Boni made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Cipriano Romo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 53 minutes, Jesus Blai managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CyB Ramón Santamarina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jesus Blai was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pablo Llanos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Florentino Hechter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 59th match minute, CyB Ramón Santamarina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elias Iruinea to maneuver through the defense. Horacio Lertxun charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The penalty shot was made by Silvano Ekain, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Club Saenz Peña's Paulo Beltxe. 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Club Saenz Peña's zone, Laureano Faron stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulo Beltxe came out of the goal and Laureano Faron tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Ricardo Boni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ricardo Boni received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Florentino Hechter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
