Rivertidísimo VGesell's Horacio Su proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Rivertidísimo VGesell from getting a goal against them. After 22 minutes of play, Rivertidísimo VGesell's Evelio Roano made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bernabe Alvarez was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Rivertidísimo VGesell booed when velez sarsfield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isidoro Arnas didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Adolfo Burni came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Rivertidísimo VGesell fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adolfo Burni couldn't finish the play. If Adolfo Burni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Evelio Roano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Bernabe Alvarez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Delmiro Pietro kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. When Delmiro Pietro fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored velez sarsfield's protests and gave Delmiro Pietro a yellow card for diving instead. velez sarsfield's Bernabe Alvarez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evelio Roano in the 43rd minute of play. After having played for 46 minutes, Evelio Roano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rivertidísimo VGesell's supporters crossed their fingers, but Evelio Roano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 46th minute, Adolfo Burni left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rivertidísimo VGesell fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. After the first half Rivertidísimo VGesell were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Osvaldo Lugo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Evelio Roano struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Bernabe Alvarez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rivertidísimo VGesell. In the 60th match minute, velez sarsfield was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Delmiro Pietro to maneuver through the defense. In the 64th minute of the match Rivertidísimo VGesell got a corner. velez sarsfield's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. In the 82nd minute, Evelio Roano fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Bernabe Alvarez, passed just outside the right post. Adolfo Burni took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bernabe Alvarez. Bernabe Alvarez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. Adolfo Burni recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, velez sarsfield's Delmiro Pietro got a free kick in the 97th minute. 98 minutes into the match, velez sarsfield's goal looked a bit too open when Evelio Roano came free, but Bernabe Alvarez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rivertidísimo VGesell's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
