In the 19th minute Lucas Eguzki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gaudencio Fidele saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lucas Eguzki fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gaudencio Fidele having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Artemio Pacho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gaudencio Fidele was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. Hornillos's Hugo Umea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ulises Ibañez in the 25th minute of play. Gaudencio Fidele stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ricardo Haimar's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. The referee gave Hornillos a penalty, 33 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Santiago Santos, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of General Pueyrredon F.C.'s Gaudencio Fidele. 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in General Pueyrredon F.C.'s zone, Lucas Eguzki stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gaudencio Fidele came out of the goal and Lucas Eguzki tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 45 minutes, Ricardo Haimar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hornillos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ricardo Haimar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 45 played minutes General Pueyrredon F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Rafael Donostia. 47 minutes into the match, Lucas Eguzki had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gaudencio Fidele. General Pueyrredon F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lucas Eguzki was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Manuel Caradaro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. General Pueyrredon F.C.'s Rafael Donostia suffered a torn muscle in his knee after 53 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Artemio Pacho during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Blas Karmel kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Hornillos's Lucas Eguzki got a free kick in the 59th minute. When Adan Bertol fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hornillos's protests and gave Adan Bertol a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of General Pueyrredon F.C. booed when Hornillos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adan Bertol didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lucas Eguzki received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Gaudencio Fidele tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 88 minutes into the game, Lucas Eguzki recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Gaudencio Fidele.
