Deportivo Martes's Generoso Osoro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Mincho in the 4th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo Martes's zone, Pedro Mincho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Generoso Osoro came out of the goal and Pedro Mincho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Gil Donatello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Pablo Quentin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Gil Donatello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gil Donatello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Generoso Osoro having to interfere. Roger van Gastel struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Generoso Osoro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gimnasia CdelU. Gil Donatello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Generoso Osoro having to interfere. 17 minutes into the match, Deportivo Martes's goal looked a bit too open when Gil Donatello came free, but Generoso Osoro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 17th match minute, Deportivo Martes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredo Obeko to maneuver through the defense. Pedro Mincho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Generoso Osoro having to interfere. Gil Donatello recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Gil Donatello came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Gimnasia CdelU fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gil Donatello couldn't finish the play. Fidel Derwin charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fidel Derwin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Fidel Derwin hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Silvano Baudelio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo Martes's supporters rose to their feet, but Silvano Baudelio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aquilino Neto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 31st minute, Deportivo Martes's Gustavo Gervaso dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. After 33 played minutes Deportivo Martes got a freekick which was hit by Roman Estefan. Gil Donatello took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Generoso Osoro. Generoso Osoro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Gil Donatello recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Roger van Gastel might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Generoso Osoro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Roger van Gastel ran back to his position shaking his head. Gil Donatello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Deportivo Martes's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Pedro Mincho 61 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-2. In the 64th match minute, Deportivo Martes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silvano Baudelio to maneuver through the defense. When Roger van Gastel came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Gimnasia CdelU fans jumped to their feet. Leonides Gudesteo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Generoso Osoro came out and tried to block the shot, but Leonides Gudesteo slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 80th minute. Generoso Osoro was out of position in the 84 minute of play, and Pedro Mincho capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Pedro Mincho really showed his touch with that goal: 1-4. In the 88th minute Gil Donatello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Generoso Osoro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Generoso Osoro came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Gimnasia CdelU's Gil Donatello. But to his dismay, Gil Donatello quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-5. With a little luck, Deportivo Martes's Generoso Osoro got control of the ball when Pablo Quentin tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 96th minute, Domingos Etxekopar left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Deportivo Martes fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-5. Gimnasia CdelU played a much better game than Deportivo Martes and deserved their victory. The Deportivo Martes players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
